It’s the dog days of summer and the temperature is through the roof. It didn’t help when your overtaxed air conditioner broke down a few days ago, and due to high demand, it would take weeks to get any repairman in to see it. Every window in the house is open and you have fans set up everywhere, but it’s just not cooling anything down. They’re blowing the boiling, humid air around pretty well, though. You find yourself lingering in the kitchen with the refrigerator door open. You are lulled into a peaceful state of unconsciousness, and only wake when you realize you’ve been trying to climb into the fridge. There has to be some way to cool down!

You go out into the back yard and are hit by a stroke of genius – there’s a water sprinkler out here! You set up the sprinkler, strip down to your boxers, and kick back in the shade. What a relief! You spend some time just lying there, lowering your temperature, discovering your higher brain functions are starting to recover. It’s such an amazing feeling; you spread out and feel the water splashing all over, splaying your arms and legs around as you bask in comfort. You look like a pig rutting in mud.

It’s at this point when you notice that your neighbor’s college-age daughter, Dakota, is home from school, and is in her back yard, right next to yours, and is looking right at you. You sheepishly compose yourself, then wave and give Dakota an embarrassed smile. Dakota must have come outside for the same reason you have. “God, it’s so hot, huh?” she says.

Dakota has always been attractive; she's a lovely brunette with delicate features, but it’s been increasingly obvious how much of a woman she has become in the last few years. She’s has a slim, athletic body, with a tight midriff and a delicious little peach bottom, but she also has these amazing, full and perky breasts. She’s a little younger than you so you always played it cool, but you were always aware of her.

Now, in her parent’s back yard, she’s lying around in a little tank top and shorts, so tight you know exactly what every curve on her body looks like. There’s a sheen of sweat covering her supple, tanned skin. Dakota catches you looking at her long, agile legs and flashes you a knowing smile. She stands up, and walks over to the fence separating your properties. She leans over. You can see a bead of sweat from her chin trace itself down her chest, running along her breast, and disappearing deep down into her top. “That looks nice,” she says, nodding toward the sprinkler. You glance across her yard. Her parent’s car is missing.

“Do you want to cool off?” you ask.
